Alumni Communities

Chicago, IL

The Outward Bound Chicago Council consists of alumni and friends who come together to impact our community by actively engaging in creating a better world to live in. Our commitment is expressed through acts of service to others through the following programs:

  • Implementing experiential learning curricula in the Chicago school system with special focus on underperforming inner city schools. Our main partner is Expeditionary Learning Schools. We support their efforts with financial assistance and volunteer work.

  • Building a Center in Chicago to bring Outward Bound programs to the inner city.

  • Conducting service programs monthly to aid institutions and various aspects of the city in need of assistance. Volunteers are the champions and leaders of this work, spearheaded by alumni committees and councils.

  • Get involved! Email us at chicago@outwardbound.org. Find the Outward Bound Chicago Community on Facebook and LinkedIn.

    Serve in Your Community!
On 2/27 in Chicago, the Outward Bound community served with the Chicago Food Depository. 16 local alumni and friends of OB spent the afternoon working to fight local hunger.
