Alumni Communities

Maine, ME

The Maine Outward Bound Program community consists of many facets: the wilderness based Land and Sea Program, Expeditionary Learning Schools, and Outward Bound Professional. Our expeditions provide learning expeditions for students of all ages and backgrounds and involve backpacking, canoeing, climbing, and sailing on courses of lengths from 8 to 68 days. We operate out of our bases in Wheeler’s Bay in St. George, the Greenville/Moosehead region and the Newry/Bethel region. We reach unique populations with Intercept programs serving at-risk youth and Veterans programs serving Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom men and women in the Armed Forces. Our Expeditionary Learning School network implements creative school curriculum in Portland, ME and in several schools in New England. Outward Bound Professional has been serving corporations, non-profits and government organizations in developing cutting edge team and leadership development courses in Maine for nearly 30 years.
