Network Administrator - Golden, CO
Summary
The Network Administrator at Outward Bound is responsible for troubleshooting network hardware and software problems, coordinating resolution using internal technical resources and vendors, managing implementation projects involving existing and new technical solutions, and coordinating vendor efforts in conjunction with project plans. The Network Administrator will also participate in the on-call rotation which provides 24/7 support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Responsible for the engineering, configuration, installation, maintenance and upgrade of the local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN).
* Perform complex engineering, implementation and maintenance tasks on the LAN and WAN.
* Responsible for the on-going assessment and upgrade of networks.
* Support VoIP implementation, maintenance and usage.
* Direct day to day activities of the Outward Bound IT Staff.
* Manage systems related to Cisco PIX Firewalls and Cisco VPN client software.
* Troubleshoots system challenges and solves problems quickly.
* Oversees web-based help desk ticketing system and ensures requests are handled promptly.
* Interact and build successful relationships with employees and management in all Outward Bound locations.
* Must follow and adhere to Outward Bound policies and procedures.
Secondary Responsibilities
* Utilizes Cisco Call Manager.
* Train end users on a regular basis.
* Travel upwards of 30%.
Knowledge and Skills
* Cisco Certifications, or experience and willingness to obtain, (CCNA, CCVP).
* Routing and Switching experience.
* Multi-site facility and systems setup.
* Strong customer service and presentation skills.
* Ability to work with end users and determine their needs.
* Must be able to work independently and possess strong self-direction and work ethic.
* Work well on team projects and collaborate.
Education and Work Experience
* Associates Degree, Bachelors Degree preferred.
* Relevant systems certifications.
* Minimum 3 years experience in Network Administration working with WAN/LAN and VoIP in a company with multi-state operations.
Salary
* $42,000 – $55,000 annually depending on experience.
