Florida's Department of Juvenile Justice (FDJJ) publishes annual Outcome Evaluation Reports that identify success rates for prevention programs throughout the state of Florida.
FINS programs were ranked the 7th and 10th best program according to success rates of 34 residential prevention programs.
FINS programs averaged an 83% success rate; this rate was 5% above the statewide average for Florida's prevention programs.
One year success rates were measured from 2001-2004, 701 students completed FINS programs and during this time 83% remained crime free up to one year or more.
2006 FDJJ's Program Accountability Measures Report ranked STEP for males the 4th most effective low cost program out of 16 low-risk programs, and was ranked 18th overall out of 123 residential programs serving male youth.
For 2002-2004, 67% of females and 62% of males remained crime free up to one year or more.
STEP-Yulee has been awarded "Deemed Status" program in 2005, 2004, 2003, 2000, 1999, and 1998, by FDJJ for demonstrating exemplary performance in all areas of programming and at every level of staff involvement.
