Leadership Award
In 1998, Outward Bound established the Leadership Award, a full-tuition scholarship program for junior-year high school students from across the country. The Leadership Award is designated for students who demonstrate an interest in community service and display untapped leadership potential. Participating schools are designated across the United States by individual donors. Teachers and staff serve an important roll in identifying candidates and ultimately select the recipient for this award. Candidate selection processes may include:
Student essays
Applications or questionnaires designed by school staff
Student presentations or interviews
Nomination by former Outward Bound alumni, school staff, or teachers
