During the course of your expedition you will receive on-the-spot seminars covering all of the above, while planning and executing a real mountaineering expedition. Everything from inclement weather to group dynamics will impact and direct the challenges you will face. You will be responsible for the leadership and communication dynamics of your team, while the guides and consultants act as both safety officers and mentors throughout your process.

The very real stresses of a high altitude environment and the logistical issues that an expedition can place upon both you and your team will be a constant source of learning and discovery. Jim Collins in his book Good to Great speaks of Level 5 Leadership as; "Building enduring greatness through a paradoxical blend of personal humility and professional will".

The word leader implies possession of a degree of power, a measure of autonomy and creativity or freedom. This program seeks to examine the pitfalls and possibilities of these theories in a very real and challenging setting, through designing and running an actual mountaineering expedition. Participants will determine the differences between being a highly capable executive, a competent manager, and a truly effective leader.
