Boston Harbor Sailing & Climbing - Youth Ventures (Boys Only)
Sail in the waters of the Boston Harbor Islands National Park Area and explore 34 surrounding islands while learning coastal navigation skills. The legendary 30-foot pulling boats are modeled after 19th century whaleboats and can accommodate 13 students and instructors. Emphasis is placed on sail training and the teamwork necessary to sail the boat successfully. Students will take an active role in learning seamanship skills such as sail theory, navigation, reading wind and tides, sailing, rowing and knot tying. Reach new heights of physical and mental vigor on the climbing tower at Thompson Island. Familiarize yourself with the fundamentals of climbing and belay systems as well as knot tying and rope handling.
