OB//session PHOTOS

Here are the winners from our first photo contest this year. While we received many good photos, we think these were the best. Thanks to everyone who submitted photos. We're always looking for great photos, so if you have some to share with us, click here.

Photographer: Arlis Monzeglio
Location/Course: Maine Sailing Expedition
This photo not only captures the joy and freedom of an Outward Bound expedition, but also suggests the "leap" that one must take to go beyond pre-conceived ideas of limitations and tap into their true potential.

Photographer: Jordan Rice
Location/Course: North Carolina/Multi-Expedition
The photographer achieved the unique composition of this photo by hanging his hammock above the water and suspending his camera from the tree branches above. Solo time on course lends itself to valuable self-reflection time and often leads to new ways of looking at things.

Photographer: Arianna Thayer
Location/Course: Maine Multi-Expedition
In her photo entry, the photographer wrote: "I was looking for words to describe my group while on solo. That's what came to mind." Course mates often build life-long relationships through their shared experiences.

Photographer: Christa Nash-Webber
Location/Course: Minnesota/Canoeing
This photo is peaceful, but also inspiring. Some of the best moments on an Outward Bound expedition are the earliest when the sun is rising, the fog is lifting and a day of adventure in untouched wilderness awaits you.

Photographer: Joshua McLane
Location/Course: Utah Rafting
"A shower is hard to come by,"wrote the photographer. It's true that Outward Bound students gain appreciation for the "little things" while on course. Students also learn to live with less, gain new respect for the natural world and find hidden opportunity in unexplored places.
