Outward Bound Names Vice President of Advancement
Anthony J. Di Spigno to Lead Outward Bound in New Fund Raising and Alumni Initiatives
Garrison, NY – November 1, 2006 –Outward Bound, the 45 year-old national non-profit, experiential education organization, announced today that Anthony J. Di Spigno has been named Vice President of Advancement. Mr. Di Spigno is a recognized leader in the education and non-profit arena’s with an outstanding record of achievement in the strategic oversight and implementation of Development initiatives. In this new position, Mr. Di Spigno will be responsible for the advancement of Outward Bound’s national Development and Alumni initiatives leading to more effective fund raising and the re-engagement of Outward Bound’s 500,000 graduates with the organization and in service to their local communities.

Mr. Di Spigno joins Outward Bound from The Boys and Girls Club of America where he was responsible for the oversight and development of the national fund raising programs, including a $200 million Centennial Campaign. Prior to The Boys and Girls Club of America, Mr. Di Spigno was Senior Vice President for Resource Development at Habitat for Humanity where he developed and coordinated all fund raising activities, as well as spearheaded a global campaign to promote and coordinate international self-sustainability. His accomplishments included raising $150 million annually and developing HFH’s first major capital campaign that raised $500 million to build 200,000 houses internationally. Mr. Di Spigno has also held executive positions at The University of Portland and at Community Counseling Service Co, Inc., a public relations and fund raising consulting company.
