National Scholarship Partners
As young women emerge from Girl Scouts USA programs at age 16, Outward Bound provides additional development programs to expand their knowledge base and skill sets.
Outward Bound supports Boys & Girls Clubs of America kids with scholarships throughout the country. Post-course, students return to their Clubs for mentoring and to apply their experiences and instill competence, usefulness, belonging and influence in their lives and communities.
Outward Bound and Summer Search join together to help low income, racially and culturally diverse high school students gain knowledge of themselves and become responsible, altruistic leaders.
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill supports John Motley Morehead Scholars annually to attend Outward Bound programs in preparation for the college experience. Students gain confidence and leadership skills.

Friends of Outward Bound
The Rowell Award celebrates the accomplishments of famed adventurers and photographers Galen and Barbara Rowell, who died in a plane crash in 2002. The Rowell Award honors that adventurer whose artistic passion illuminates the wild places of the world, and whose accomplishments significantly benefit both the environment and the people who inhabit these lands and regions.
