Each year Outward Bound hosts a national fundraising gala to celebrate our collective work and successes. We welcome Outward Bound alumni, board members and all our generous supporters to this exciting event. This year’s benefit dinner – the 48th Annual Benefit Dinner – is soon approaching and promises to be a fun-filled evening to support Outward Bound.
The 2010 Outward Bound National Benefit Dinner is right around the corner (less than a month away)! There is so much work that goes into this incredible event; I am thrilled to see it all come together. The festivities this year will be very “Outward Bound”, with some fun surprises, including an Outward Bound Sharpie – one of the actual boats we use on our sailing expeditions – in front of the building! Please help make this night a huge success for Outward Bound and all of the students our programs benefit. Join us on October 28th at the Riverside Church of New York as we celebrate Outward Bound’s work and mission; it promises to be a great event, supporting a great cause and – above all – a fun evening.
We still have a few special discounted-rate tickets ($300 per ticket – half the regular price!) available on a first come, first served basis. Space is limited.
This year, we are proud honor Mark T. Bertolini, President of Aetna and to present The Kurt Hahn Award to our dear friend, President and CEO of Outward Bound, John Read. Attending or donating to this event is an easy way to support Outward Bound; funds raised help us to serve more kids, giving them opportunities to reach their full potential. Please partner with us in this important work.
See you this October, and remember it’s black tie & sneakers so don’t forget your sneaks!
Katherine Payne is the Special Events Manager at Outward Bound USA and is also an Outward Bound Alum. In July 2010, she went on her first Outward Bound course – an all women’s sailing course in Maine for 7 days – where she not only learned to sail (well, most of the trip was spent rowing), but also faced the challenges of rock climbing and made great friends on a once in a lifetime journey.
