About the Dog Village

A community of 55+ sled dogs is a more than a dog yard, it’s a Dog Village and it requires, special, one-of-a-kind care and maintenance. Making sure our Canine Crew is ready to take students on first class adventures in the winter is a year-round commitment. From exercise and training gear to the appropriate food to build muscle and energy for cold winter runs—Winter Crews are dependent upon their dog’s health, wellness, and stamina. Voyageur Outward Bound’s canine family is every bit as important as our human ones.
