Outward Bound for Grieving Teens
These expeditions are often the very inexplicable thing that a young person in pain may need most. Intended to provide respectful healing experiences in a wilderness environment, these courses implement personal growth methodologies and a simple support model that honors the griever.
Thanks to the contributions of Outward Bound partners, we’re able to offer these expeditions with significantly reduced tuition so that every grieving teen – regardless of financial ability – may take part in their own healing journey.
Course listing reflects reduced tuition made possible through our donor support.
Additional need based scholarships are available. Please use the map above to contact Student Services staff near you to inquire about additional scholarship support for this program.
Outward Bound for Grieving Teens is made possible through the generous support of our donors and the Leadership support of The New York Life Foundation.
Outward Bound for Veterans
Veterans expeditions build on camaraderie and the challenge of the natural world as a pathway to healing. As they purposely scaffold wartime experiences like heavy packs and sleeping outdoors, as well as use wilderness activities as metaphors for daily life, these courses help build the self-confidence and trust necessary for Veterans to return to employers, families and communities.
These expeditions are offered with full scholarship for veterans, including travel to course location. Click here to find an expedition.
Outward Bound for Veterans is made possible through the generous support of our donors, the Leadership Support of the Kendeda Fund, Veterans United Foundation and the May & Stanley Smith Charitable Trust; by the Pinacle Support of the William E. Kahlert Foundation and John and Moreen McGurk; and by the Summit Support of Aetna Insurance Company and the Disabled American Veterans Charitable Trust.
