As a parent, you may find yourself trying to look at the world through your teen's eyes – and being a teenager sure looks different these days. Middle- and high school-aged students have been navigating their identity-forming years in a time of great disconnect from their peers and communities. Those challenges can be tough on the whole family. We can help.
Outward Bound's Intercept program is for families with teens who are facing challenging circumstances and need a reset. Intercept expeditions are specifically designed to help youth disrupt their routines and to discover tools for communication and self-advocacy, positive decision-making, and strengthening interpersonal relationships. These skills are developed during exciting adventures where teamwork meets facilitated activities and discussion – and students can explore the edges of their comfort zones to discover there is more in them than they know.
Outward Bound offers Intercept Expeditions year-round for teens and young adults who are in need of a crew to support them. Your child will explore awe-inspiring surroundings and learn the skills to navigate, set camp, and thrive in the outdoors while building connection, responsibility, and perspective. And you'll join us for the last three days of the program, in a pivotal and productive workshop with instructors and your child.
We are so excited to welcome your family to Outward Bound.
