Who am I in the Outdoors? A Virtual Film Fest and Discussion Tuesday, October 20, 2020 6:00-7:30 p.m. ET Tickets: $7
Gather with alums from the Baltimore and Washington, DC area for a virtual watch party and discussion hosted by Chesapeake Bay Outward Bound School and Outward Bound USA. We’ll join to watch a few film shorts centered around the celebration of who we are outside and the challenges that can often bring. Featured shorts will include So Dark – a Wild East Story (Appalachian Trail Conservancy) and Akuna Hikes - PTSD Healing Through Hiking (Merrell), and Women of Rock (Adam Moffat). We’ll then hear from a panel of Outward Bound instructors and students as well as others exploring the important work of identity in the outdoors.

THE EXPEDITION OF RESILIENCE: A Panel Discussion with Outward Bound Health Professionals Tuesday, June 16, 2020 4 – 5 p.m. EST Dr. Seth C. Hawkins, medical advisor for North Carolina Outward Bound School, moderates a discussion with our panel of Outward Bound health professionals. Discover how Outward Bound’s guiding principles have impacted their ability to face personal challenges with resilience and serve others with compassion during this challenging time.
Panelists include: Maria Collins, Vice President of the New York Life Foundation; Steve Smith, Outward Bound staff alum, risk management consultant with Experiential Consulting and current member of the Northwest Outward Bound Safety Committee; Dr. Christine Norton, Outward Bound alum, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and research scientist with the Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare Center; and Dr. David Zodda, MD, Outward Bound staff alum, Emergency Medicine Physician and Associate Director to the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Hackensack University Medical Center.

An Invitational Expedition is a custom course designed to promote the understanding of the mission and programs of Outward Bound, to build support for the work of Outward Bound USA and to provide a significant, impactful program experience. Invitational Expeditions are hosted by key supporters and volunteers with the intent of cultivating and creating new donors and advocates for Outward Bound.
All in-person Outward Bound program has been suspended including 2020 Invitationals.
