Inspiring Bold Futures: The Alumni Experience
Thursday, July 22nd 6-7:30 ET
Similar to an evening on the trail or on the water, Alumni Ambassadors from Thompson Island Outward Bound and Outward Bound California will lead attendees in breakout initiatives that illuminate the impact of their individual Outward Bound experience while inviting you to engage in your own. Come explore how Outward Bound is inspiring alumni to lead lives of purpose and compassion.

Discovering the Science of Learning and Development: A Roundtable Discussion with OBUSA’s Professional Learning Lab
Discover why Outward Bound’s educational model is grounded in the science of learning and development and explore how students are changing their lives with long term results. Leaders in the education field will discuss the effects of social emotional learning and illuminate how the work of the Outward Bound Professional Learning Lab is making an impact on students and staff.

Join us for Outward Bound USA’s 2021 National Annual Benefit on Wednesday, November 10th, a hybrid virtual event. Come Learn how Outward Bound inspires bold futures, discover how we are serving students beyond the wilderness and explore Outward Bound’s local and regional outdoor education programs that embolden students’ lifelong pursuit of self-actualization, social responsibility, and leadership. The benefit will feature leaders in the field of outdoor education, public policy and students and staff from Outward Bound Schools across the nation.

OBUSA’s Fall Circle Up

Join this town hall event for an important discussion with OBUSA leadership and regional School representatives that are making an impact in the work of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The event will include conversation topics such as anti-racist practices in regional communities and updates on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and partnerships at OBUSA.

Circle Up! Alumni & Friends Event
September 24 at 4:30 p.m. through September 25 at 9:00 p.m. PST
Circle Up! Alumni & Friends event is a 2 day virtual event full of exciting activities that will build connection & re-kindle friendships with our vibrant community of staff, students, and outdoor enthusiasts of all ages!
Alumni will join us at our base and online as they share stories from their course, build a fire, and reminisce about their time with CBOBS. This will tie in and end a larger summer campaign where we will urge alumni to get their crews to donate in peer to peer giving while reaching wider networks.
OBUSA invites you on a virtual expedition to explore the lasting impact of Outward Bound programming. During this immersive and interactive event, participants will hear students' stories of challenge and growth, get a taste of Outward Bound in the virtual setting through student led short challenge initiatives and learn from Outward Bound leaders about a few of the unique partnerships and programs that are inspiring students to lead lives of purpose and compassion.
The Spring Circle Up, a town hall event, kicked off OBUSA’s 2021 Virtual Event Series. Together we gathered with School staff and leadership who have innovated health and safety practices during the Covid-19 pandemic to share stories of trials and teamwork as they continue to address the ever-evolving needs of students nationwide.
An Invitational Expedition is a custom course designed to promote the understanding of the mission and programs of Outward Bound, to build support for the work of Outward Bound USA and to provide a significant, impactful program experience. Invitational Expeditions are hosted by key supporters and volunteers with the intent of cultivating and creating new donors and advocates for Outward Bound.
